What is Positive Input Ventilation?
Positive Input Ventilation, or PIV for short, is a ventilation system that is designed to reduce the risk of condensation and mould problems and provide a healthier internal environment.
How Does It Work?
PIV systems work on the principle of slowly pushing air into a dwelling to create a very slight positive air pressure.
This pressure creates a force that pushes air out of the property via leakage points such as windows, vents, doors etc..
Essentially, it dilutes and slowly flushes out the air inside your property, taking moisture vapour and other airborne contaminants with it.
PIV systems are usually mounted in a loft and pull filtered air from the loft into the dwelling. For this reason, the loft must be suitably ventilated to the outside.
If your property does not have a loft, wall-mounted systems are available.
